Uwezo Development Initiative (UDI)

IMG_4775The main objective of Uwezo Development Initiative (UDI) is to reduce poverty among vulnerable groups such as women, youth and children by empowering them socially and economically for sustainable development. To achieve this, UDI trains these groups on family planning, HIV/AIDS, Cervical cancer screening, hygiene. Additionally, they are provided with economical training on savings and credit scheme to enable income generating activities.

 

WEIKE – Women Empowerment in Kenya e.V.

The association was founded in April 2017 in Karlsruhe, Germany, to support directly the activities by Uwezo Development Initiative in the framework of the Empowering Young Women and Girls Project. The objective is to communicate the project activities in order to raise funds that will directly benefit the targeted young women and their children.

Pwani University

A project team of 4 members contributes to the project with providing relevant reasearch to settle the project in an adademic framework. Moreover, the university partnership gives the opportunity to include students from relevant study fields.

 

 

Hochschule Karlsruhe

The study program Communication and Media Management has been supporting the project by developing learning material for the young mothers and the trainers, as well as by enhancing and funding the multilaterial collaboration.
